We said goodbye to a dear friend today… Pat Kilroy passed away on July 26, 2014 after battling with liver cancer. Pat did sleigh rides with his horses at our sugarbush for years (starting possibly in 2005?). Pat was an amazing guy who lived life to it’s fullest. When he retired from teaching math at Chippewa, he never took a break and was always out working with his horses. He did sleigh rides on weekends at our sugar shack during syrup season, but he also used them to plough fields and log trees, he spent a few winters logging some of the beech and poplar out of our sugarbush. He would often stop by for a coffee off season as well. He always gave the best hugs whenever he saw you.
Pat introduced us to Tony Riley and Jody Logan who did sleigh rides last year, but he still stopped by himself for a visit many times throughout the season.
His daughter Robin has made a blog dedicated to preserving his memory, called My Dad is Not Just A Picture (http://mydadisnotjustapicture.wordpress.com/)
